Meet Rupert - TVAR's PET of the YEAR 

Rupert was a resident of the East County Animal Shelter for 3 months where he entertained everyone with his tricks - including his SPINS that he does on command. While he was getting a lot of love at the shelter, he was being overlooked time and time again by adopters because he was a senior boy - 10 years old!


Then the best day of his life occured when he was adopted by Jared Shaffer and his three kids - Emilie, Will and Michael. The only problem was that Rupert wasn't doing his "spin routine" at his new home. So we said "have you asked?" and voila.... Rupert was spinning like a top.


Here is what the Shaffer family had to say about Rupert:

"Rupert is the perfect dog for our family. He instantly became comfortable around our family and house. Despite his young age of 10, he has the perfect amount of energy for our family. He loves his walks and chasing squirrels. He is friendly with everyone he meets. He still does his spin for treats."

ADOPTION EVENTS are generally held every Saturday if we have pets in foster - as follows:


DOG ADOPTIONS:

10 am - 1 pm
